DenMarked
“DenMARKED is what can only be described as brilliance.” “If there were thousands more like Murray who managed to 'breakthrough' from a working class background to the mainstream Arts, the landscape would be very different to what it is today.”
Tales from the council estate of dodgy best friends: that rite of passage, your first arrest, dinner with your social worker and the Christmas Dad went to prison.
A combination of hip-hop and theatre, Conrad's honest, raw and humorous show is told through segments of blistering beatbox, guitar and Shakespeare-infused storytelling live-mixed with a loop station.
Created by Conrad Murray and developed with Battersea Arts Centre, DenMarked explores the extent to which we are marked by events in our past.
DenMarked is Murray’s autobiography and returned after a successful run and national tour to Battersea Arts Centre in March 2017.
DenMarked was performed for the Brighton Dome Brighton in 2019.
The show extensively toured the UK including Camden Peoples Theatre, Battersea Arts Centre, Liverpool Lowry, Matson GL4, Gloucester Guildhall, Tom Thumb Theatre, Peterborough Quay theatre, Folkestone Quarterhouse, Courtyard Theatre,
DenMarked was commissioned and produced by the Battersea Arts Centre.
